1945 Ford GPW Jeep £24995

Motodrome are pleased to offer this utterly charming 1945 Ford GPW Jeep

1945 Ford GPW Jeep for sale at motodrome

Built January 1945 according to the chassis number, it retains it’s original Ford chassis with the number stamped in the correct place, and the correct front crossmember

Unusually for one of these, this one was first civilian registered in the UK as long ago as 1958, so it’s been here for around 80 per cent of it’s life.

It’s only had two private owners in the last 21 years, with the last owner since 2012, and he’s enjoyed trips to both Normandy and Arnhem in it over the years.

It’s been updated a little, for ease of use and reliability, and hence the original floor start has been replaced with a key, it’s been retrofitted with indicators, electronic ignition, fuel pressure regulator, a Solex carb in place of the original Carter, modern fuse box, and the head has been converted to take unleaded fuel.

We’re told the engine block is original, but the cylinder head is a post-war replacement.

The last owner had the gearbox removed and overhauled, a new clutch fitted, and a refurbished radiator, and a new battery was fitted earlier this year.

Recent new hood fitted.

It’s equipped with combat rims, bar grip tyres, and a NATO towhook

History wise we have a big sheaf of bills and old MOT’s dating back to 2003, but I’m afraid we know nothing of it’s life prior to this.

Odometer reading 77000 miles.

It’s RFL,  MOT, and ULEZ exempt

It starts on the button and drives really well for a GPW – it’s thoroughly sorted and ready for new adventures.
