ABOUT US

Welcome! I’m Simon – I set up Motodrome nearly 22 years ago now. Prior to that I’d been involved in the sales, financing and leasing of Prestige, Classic and Sports Cars and 4×4’s from 1986, so after over 37 years, I’d say I have a reasonable amount of experience in the field. Dealing in eclectic and interesting cars is pretty much the only thing I’m any good at – I’m one of the lucky people who’s passion became their livelihood. Over 20 years on, we’re still getting bigger and busier every year, and have clients all over the globe.

We are based 6m West of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, UK, and we specialise in the sale of THE classic British 4×4, (the Land Rover Defender and Series models) but also stock many other interesting classic, performance and eclectic cars that take my fancy, and the occasional motorbike too.

Since 2007, we’ve shot 2 videos of each of our cars , a walkaround and a driving one, , which are displayed on our site along with plenty of photographs and a factual description, hopefully giving potential customers a bit more to go on than some other dealers. Nearly four thousand youtube videos later, we’re one of the better-known exponents of video descriptions for vehicles. Our YouTube channel is Motodrome Henley on Thames. We don’t aim for high production values on our videos – they are there primarily to showcase a ‘warts and all’ approach to the car in question, and reflect our straightforward approach.

We welcome customer viewings Monday to Saturday , but strictly by prior appointment only.

You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube for updates on new stock etc by clicking on the social media icons on any page – we’re pretty active on all 3 platforms.

If you experience any issues navigating our website (especially on mobile devices) please let us know using the contact us page – we welcome the feedback.

Thanks for reading – I hope you like what you find here.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE. WE HAVE NOW STOPPED TAKING BOTH DEBIT AND CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS FOR VEHICLES, DUE TO EVER-INCREASING PROCESSING COSTS. WE NOW ONLY TAKE PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER, AND I’M AFRAID WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH, AS IN NOTES.

Most banks these days operate the ‘faster payment’ system whereupon your payment is with us either straight away, or within a few minutes. The exceptions are the ‘fintech’ banks, Revolut being a case in point. Payments from this platform can ‘disappear’ for 48 hours, and naturally we won’t release a vehicle until the funds are securely in our account.
