1964 Jaguar MK2 3.4 man/OD fast road spec £27995

Motodrome offer this beautiful 1964 Jaguar MK2 3.4 manual overdrive, finished in Opalescent Dark Blue   with full dark blue leather and walnut trim.

This one has been uprated to ‘fast road’ or Coombs spec including the following;

Rebuilt 3.4 motor with big-valve, gas flowed, unleaded head

2in carburettors

Uprated 4-pot front calipers

RS handling kit

Coombs-style louvred bonnet

Coombs-style cut down rear spats

205/70 VR15 Vredestein tyres on recent MWS stainless steel wire wheels

And I can confirm it absolutely flies down the road.

It’s further fitted with rack and pinion power steering, and electronic ignition.

A thoroughly-loved car, this one has had major expenditure over the past 30-odd years, including, but not limited to;

In 1994 at 66,885 miles, it received a major bout of expenditure which included a full engine rebuild with new pistons and a reground crank etc, new front and rear suspension springs plus a host of other mechanical jobs.

In 1997 it was treated to a full bodywork restoration including a bare metal repaint in dark metallic blue when the louvred bonnet and Coombs-style rear wheel spats were also fitted. All the brightwork was rechromed at the same time (and remains superb)  and the underside was wax coated.

In 1998 it was sent to RS Coachworks of Reading for various upgrades including rack-and-pinion power steering; the lead-free cylinder head which was gas-flowed and fitted with larger inlet valves and valve seats; a gas-flowed inlet manifold bored out to accept the 2″ carburettors which were also fitted; Jaguar XJ Series 3 electronic ignition; uprated 4-pot front brake calipers; uprated suspension with RS Handling Kit; Mota-Lita steering wheel plus various other improvements.

In 1999 the car was bought by a German gentleman living in Newbury who kept it for 10 years and appears to have used it in both England and in Germany with various bills on file covering this period

The owner 2009-25 further improved it with a lot of work to the interior, which is superb, having had new leather trim fitted, new headlining, and carpets. It’s otherwise standard inside except for the Moto-Lita woodrim steering wheel, and inertia reel rear seat belts.

We have a massive file of history back to 1990

Odometer reading 91000 miles

It looks gorgeous, drives beautifully, and in over 30 years experience of MK2 Jaguars I think it’s one of the finest, and certainly one of the quickest,  I’ve had through my hands.
