motodrome offer for sale this utterly charming 1947 MG TC, finished in Tartan Red with tan leather.

Naturally we have the full set of weather equipment – full hood, sidescreens, a full tonneau cover, and also a half tonneau
This one has been fitted with cycle wings and aero screens for a more sporty appearance. The wings have been fitted using the original mount points with no extra holes, so it could be returned to a more sedentary look if required, although personally I prefer it with the cycle wings.
It’s also been fitted with the well-known (if you’re into classic MG’s) steering box conversion using a VW setup, replacing the original Bishop cam steering box and making the steering rather less wayward, and more precise, than it would have been originally.
Chassis no TC 2252 is an original UK example, and retains it’s original registration number.
First registered to a Mr Cyril Fletcher of Coventry on 10th Feb 1947. And yes, among the other history we have the original buff logbook, plus 3 other buff and green ones.
It’s obviously been restored at least once in it’s long life, although not for at least 20 years, and displays a pleasing patina overall.
The last owner has had it since 2006, and cared for it meticulously, but it seems no stranger to long-term ownership as it seems to have had one keeper from 1975 until at least 1993.
Apart from the original log books, the history we hold goes back to 1975 and an engine rebuild.
The majority of the history goes back to 2006, and, apart from general servicing and lubrication, highlights include a rebuilt gearbox and new clutch in 2021, and less than 1000 miles ago, and an ignition system rebuild in 2024
Odometer reading 18000 miles, which should really be taken with a large dollop of salt, but it appears to have done just 9000 miles since 2004, which is the first MOT certificate we hold.
It’s thoroughly sorted and great to drive, and give a proper 1940’s driving experience (except for the steering which is a slightly more modern setup)
