2004/54 VW Lupo GTi 6-speed £9995

Motodrome offer for sale  this brilliant  2004/54 VW Lupo GTi.

It’s the first one of these I’ve had through my hands, and if this one is anything to go by, they’re a really impressive little car.

With 125hp from it’s 1.6 litre twin-cam engine, married to a low kerb weight of around 950kgs (achieved by alloy panels) they’re known as the spiritual successor to the original Golf GTi, and I concur entirely with that.

They’re quite rare in the UK, with less than 1000 sold in their time, so some have found their way back from Japan, as there’s a big demand for them here. This is one of those ex-Japan cars, which was first registered here in 2023

This is a late model, so has the 6-speed manual gearbox, but the spec also includes:

Air conditioning (seems to be cold), ABS, power steering, alloy wheels (shod with a matching set of near-new Toyo Proxes), rear spoiler, electric front windows, and remote alarmed locking.

We have 2 sets of keys.

The V5 shows 1 previous owner since importation (which will be the importer) and the last owner, from whom it’s come in part exchange, has upgraded it as follows:

JVC double DIN head unit with Apple Carplay and Android connectivity

SprogTech induction system

Bilstein B12 shocks and springs

Eibach camber bolt kit

However it comes with all the original parts (including the original plastic engine cover which won’t fit whilst the Sprogtech system is fitted) for a new owner to return to standard     if desired.

Odometer reading 58000 miles which, being an import, we can’t warrant, but it’s likely correct, especially as, unusually, there’s a lot of Japanese service history with it

In 2023 at circa 48000m  it was treated to a new cambelt kit inc water pump tensioner, and alternator belt.

Last serviced July 2025 at circa 55000 miles.

It will come with a fresh 12M MOT on sale

It’s a really super-driving example, that’s starts on the button hot or cold,  and races along like a little terrier. It’s absolutely addictive.

At the very bottom of the page, you’ll find our usual two videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description.
