motodrome offer for sale the ultimate in classic SAAB 900’s – a 1991 turbo 16 3-door Carlsson.

IN DECEMBER 1996 THIS VEHICLE WAS THE SUBJECT OF A CATEGORY C INSURANCE CLAIM, AND THEN, IN OCTOBER 1999, IT WAS THE SUBJECT OF ANOTHER INSURANCE CLAIM, THIS TIME A CATEGORY D
The Carlsson was produced 1990-92 in limited numbers (around 200 per year) for the UK market, in honour of the SAAB rally driver Erik Carlsson, and all but the very last few were only available in Red, White, or Black. The few that are left rarely come to market.
All were 3-door hatches, had the distinctive body-coloured Airflow body kit, whaletail rear spoiler, the red APC meaning 185bhp, the heavy-duty ‘Type 9 gearset, twin exhausts, uprated suspension, and Carlsson steering wheel and tailgate script.
This one is also fitted with the optional full leather upholstery.
Also fitted with more modern stereo with a bass bin in the boot, and a ProSpeed stainless exhaust.
Odometer reading 194000 miles, but a) these are more than capable of starship mileages, and b) the engine was overhauled by a SAAB specialist in 2019.
