motodrome offer for sale this 1999/T Land Rover Discovery 300TDi 3-door 5 seater, finished in Rioja Red metallic with grey interior
This is one of the rare and desirable 3 door models without the twin sunroofs, and must be one of the very last 300TDi’s registered.
Fitted with: Boost alloys shod with a matching set of near-new Pirelli Scorpion tyres, headlamp wash, electric front windows, remote alarmed locking, load cover, full-length sidesteps, and towpack with integrated rear step. Also has an aftermarket radio/CD.
MILEAGE, MOT ETC
Odometer reading just 52000 miles.
Apparently it’s then-elderly owner put it away in his barn in 2012, following it having broken down, and left it there. It turned out he’d inadvertently put petrol in it rather than diesel, and, whilst that doesn’t do any lasting damage to the engine, 300TDi’s won’t run far like that (I know, having done the same myself on one embarrassing occasion many years ago). The last owner bought it from the above -mentioned elderly,now-deceased owner’s estate last year, and recommissioned it with a replacement diesel injector pump (obviously having flushed out any trace of petrol) new cambelt, new battery, a service, and new tyres, and here she is.
Bodywork wise she’s in remarkably good order, with no lacquer loss on what appears to be the original paint, and the only meaningful electrolytic reaction is on the NSR valance.
Boot floor, front inner wings, and chassis are all really good, helped by a) no sunroofs, b) being a 3dr, and c) spending the last 10 years dry stored.
Interior – all original (bar the later stereo) and in condition commensurate with the low mileage. Only downside is the headlining glue has failed towards the front, meaning the headlining sags a little.
Mechanically – drives absolutely superbly – very quiet 300TDi motor and everything else seems on the button too.
It sailed through it’s MOT at the end of January, with no advisories, and hence comes with MOT to the end of January 2024, and 6 months warranty on sale.
With it’s low odometer reading and specification it’s an increasingly-rare opportunity, and should provide great enjoyment for it’s new owner.
At the very bottom of the page, you’ll find our usual two videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, both of this particular example, which form part of the description.
