FURTHER DETAIL
Odometer reading just 45000 miles and it runs the correct 951-prefix motor.
I’ve not seen many Lightweights that, after over 30 years of civilian life, haven’t been messed with and/or changed from their original spec, but this is certainly one of them, and it’s oozing that sought-after original patina, without tipping over into outright scruffiness. It’s full of character, and on test run on arrival it performed well. We will however be giving it a service before sale and replacing the spark plugs etc.
It last passed through our hands in 2012, when it had an odometer reading of 34000 miles.
It’s only had 4 previous owners since being cast in 1991 (the last since 2014) and it served (as 50 HG 08) with 3 Commando Brigade all it’s life. We have the ‘B’ card for it, and a reasonable sheaf of bills from it’s civilian life.
It is of course now MOT and RFL exempt.
At the very bottom of the page, you’ll find our usual 2 videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description of the vehicle
