Motodrome offer for sale this 1963 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series IIa, this one an ex-military 88in petrol model

This one’s official designation was Truck, GS FFR ¼ ton 4×4 Rover 8, and the military number for this one was 83 EL 73,
When it left the military it was registered as a 1972 vehicle as was the practice at the time, although we think, from it’s chassis number and features, that it was manufactured in 1963.
Spec-wise it seems to retain most of it’s early and military features (with the exception of the radio gear) including sprung steering wheel, short handbrake lever, military seats, oil cooler, hand throttle, twin fuel tanks, bonnet mounted spare wheel, military rear crossmember, military tailgate, and rear bumperettes. Also fitted with door mirrors, a matching set of 4 750×16 tyres and towbar,
Odometer reading just a shade under 70000 miles, and it’s fitted with a 2.25 military recon motor.
It’s ULEZ, RFL and MOT exempt.
Supplied by us to the last owner in 2021, he’s kept it garaged and looked after it well, but has now moved on to other things, so we were happy to have it back into stock.
On test it performed very well indeed.
