Here at Motodrome, we love a classic 1980’s BMW, from the time when ‘the ultimate driving machine’ meant something. So we’re very pleased to offer one of our favourites – a 1982 BMW (E21) 320 2-door automatic.

DETAILS
This example is a rare survivor from the era, and as far as we can see is original, unrestored, and simply lovely with an odometer reading of just 32000 miles.
Finished in Polaris Silver with blue cloth interior, which is original and in excellent shape.
Fitted with alloy wheels, power steering, automatic transmission, and a more modern stereo.
As above, the odometer reading of just 32000 miles is backed up by history including the original service book with 12 stamps up to 30266m in 2015, and a file of bills. It has been serviced subsequently at 30744m.
The V5 shows just 4 previous owners, although this figure could be a little higher as the vehicle seems to have spent some time in Ireland, where it was registered as ZV4277, before coming back to the UK. We have the original Irish registration certificate. However, the last 2 owners were husband and wife who had the car since 2018, and cherished it in a heated garage. On the husband’s death in October 2022 the car was registered in his wife’s name.
Owing to it’s age, the vehicle should now be MOT, RFL and ULEZ exempt as it’s just turned 40 years old. However, the former 2 don’t happen automatically and the new owner will have to apply for this in due course – I’m sure the previous owners would have done it, had an impending bereavement not taken precedence.
The upside of the above is that it comes with MOT to the end of December 2023.
With it’s smooth straight six power coupled with an automatic gearbox and power steering, it’s a lovely experience to drive and is a real time warp from when BMW’s were small, uncomplicated and a delight to drive. I absolutely adore it.
